What a Crazy Pair!

San Antonio, Texas (FGAQ) -- America has fallen in love with Texas' wildest twosome, Julian and Joaquin Castro, the twin San Antonio mayoral candidates. Their opponents claim that the Castros have twice the campaigning power, giving them an unfair advantage, plus making them extra adorable.

Castro, responding to the charge of double trouble, explained a typical campaign day. "My brother has gone on the river barge before. I then decided to go to a neighborhood meeting so I decided to do that, and my brother still wanted to ride on the city council barge."

"That's right," Castro replied. "Maybe I want to go to a shopping mall opening, and my brother wants to speak to the Chamber of Commerce. No problem. One of us can sleep late, and the other can take a power nap, so we both end up being refreshing and charming."

"And then, there is Miss San Antonio, Elysia Petru," interjected Castro. "Who will be the best man there? Ha, ha, ha, ha."

"Ha, ha, ha, indeed," shot back Castro. "No doubt it is me!"

"Aye-yi-yi," exclaimed opponent Phil Hardberger. "I can't tell these two apart. This is unfettered wackiness!"

The Castro Twins Theme Song

Meet Joaquin, who's lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Julian's only seen the sight.
Of the Statehouse all lit up at night...
What a crazy pair!

But they're mayors,
Identical mayors all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Joaquin adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Julian loves the Alamo,
Burritos makes him lose control ...
What a wild duet!

Still, they're mayors,
Identical mayors and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike ...

You can lose your mind,
When mayors are two of a kind.
