Last Gasp of Moderation

The Road to Redemption

The final scraps of
moderating influence
have finally
been swept out of the White House door by
the mighty broom of change.
Colin Powell, who
purportedly once told
President Bush
that he was wrong about some small thing or another, was seen this morning
entering
the long black Cadillac of destiny.
Before departing from
the driveway of despair,
Powell rolled down
the windows of secrecy,
and turned up
the radio of freedom
really loud.
Unfortunately there was
nothing on but a really crappy oldies station, so Powell jammed in a CD of
Tom Waits' 'Real Gone' and peeled out, leaving nothing behind but
the dust of disillusionment.
