Hollywood, CA - Today the Federal Communications Commission decided not to fine NBC for airing the F-word uttered by Bono during the fucking 2002 Golden Globe Awards.

The following is a statement from Brent Bozell, President of the Parents Television Council:

"Bono may have used the F-word as a fucking adjective, but today's fucked-up FCC ruling turned it into a verb directed at American families."

"Today's decision by the Fucking Communications Commission does nothing to hold NBC accountable for this obvious breach of commonsense decency standards. The decision also does little to restore the notion that a broadcast license represents a motherfucking public trust, not a corporate entitlement. Once again the FCC has made a fucking mockery of its avowed duty to serve the public interest.

"FCC Chairman Michael Powell insists he is taking a strong fucking stance against broadcast indecency. But today his message is loud and clear: Fucking TV networks can broadcast indecent programming because the FCC will not enforce the existing decency laws laid down by the fucking Supreme Court 25 fucking years ago.

"Perhaps as appalling as today's ruling is NBC's fucking arrogance in the matter. After the Golden Globe Awards broadcast, did NBC admit that it had done something wrong? Fuck No. Did NBC apologize? Fuck No. Did NBC take immediate steps to make sure it would never happen again? Fuck No. In fact, fucking NBC filed a formal statement with the fucking FCC that defended its fucking broadcast, and they went so far as to dismiss the objections of fucking American families as 'logically bankrupt.'"
