A Scary Halloween Tale of Karen Stolzmann

From Channel 3000, WISC in Madison, Wisconsin, just in time for Halloween, we get the story of 44 year old grave robber Karen Stolzmann and her big urn of trouble.

Michael Hendrickson's marker

Long, long ago, back in 1992,  Karen's lover, Michael Hendrickson, shot himself right in front of her. Ahrooo! Already scared, aren't you?

Very creepy cemetery

Why did he do it? We don't know. What we do understand is that he was then cremated and buried in the very creepy Cambria cemetery, a place rumored to be awash in dead bodies. And you know what happened next? Karen came back a few weeks later and dug him up. Ahrooo!

Scalp-hungry Indians in Sheboygan

I'm telling you, this is giving me the creeps. Twelve long years, she traveled with Michael's urn, journeying from Sheboygan to Atlanta and then back to Sheboygan. And then, just recently, Michaels family found out the urn was missing, and the police arrested Karen for concealing stolen property. Ah-ah-ahrooo!

Slimy disgusting rats

Okay, we admit it, that wasn't our scariest story ever. Not even close. Grave robbing can make for a decent story - haven't you ever heard of Frankenstein? Ahrooo! What we need in this story is a twist, something so blood-curdling that it will send you scurrying under your bed like a frightened little mouse. Or rat, I should say. Much scarier, those rats, I'm telling you.

Mummy that could rip your head right off

What we need is a very twisted ending, and thanks to the AP, we have it. It seems that Michael was not buried alone. Oh no, he was buried with his beer and cigarettes, much as the ancient Egyptian mummies were buried with their most prized possessions. And in the end it turns out that evil Karen had stolen his smokes and drunk his beer, proving that you can't take it with you. Ah-ah-ahrooo!
